Abstract
This report examines changes in the population of the six YMCA branch areas in Omaha and Council Bluffs between 1970 and 1980, as well as changes in the racial/ethnic composition of the areas. For the purposes of this report, an area of one mile radius surrounding each Omaha office and the Council Bluffs office was studied. All census tracts falling within the one mile radius were included. The locations of the Omaha branch areas are shown in Map 1. At this time 1980 Census data for age, gender, and income are not yet available. These data are expected to be released by late autumn by the Census Bureau.
