The Common Data Set (CDS) seeks to develop standard data elements to allow for better analysis of various student cohorts while decreasing data efforts at participating institutions. Each participating institution follows a standard set of data element and cohort guidelines when filling out the annual CDS survey. These results are then used in surveys from The College Board, Thomson-Peterson’s, and U.S. News and World Report. CDS is optional, but UNO participates and publishes their CDS survey annually. Enrollment and Persistence; First-Time, First-Year (Freshman) Admission; Transfer Admission; Academic Offerings and Policies; Student Life; Annual Expenses; Financial Aid; Instructional Faculty and Class Size; and Degree Conferred.
