Abstract
The political and financial disturbances that have occurred in recent times throughout the world have created universal demand for trustworthy leadership. This widespread unrest makes the study of authentic leadership (AL) a timely and worthwhile pursuit. The purpose of this study is to examine how extraverted-introverted teachers perform authentic leadership and to investigate the similarities and differences of extraverted-introverted teachers. Four teachers in community college and elementary private school settings in a Midwestern city were interviewed using a qualitative, in-depth and open-ended questionnaire based off of the Authentic Leadership Survey (SLQ). Findings showed that the teachers performed authentic leadership in all aspects of their teaching and that there is no significant association between extraverted or introverted teachers and authentic leadership.
