Abstract
In a 1969 article, it was concluded that between the years of 1956 and 1965, "the number and the percentages of research articles increased over time." This same conclusion can be drawn by looking at the quantity of citings of research articles in social work journals between the years of 1969 to 1974. In 1969, 32 citings were made, as compared with 41 citings in 1973, and 45 citings in 1974. In looking at Psychological Abstracts, 30 citings were made in 1965, as compared with 123 for 1973.
