Description

This article demonstrates the importance of community development graduate programs. It discusses how community-based participatory research (CBPR) helps students gain experience working with different races, classes, genders, sexual orientations, cultures, and education levels. CBPR programs challenges students' beliefs and attitudes regarding power, racial, and economic privilege. The article finds that incorporating these programs helped students to develop their knowledge, skills, and beliefs associated with cultural humility.
