The Department of Gerontology provides UNO and UNL students with an opportunity to learn of the issues and opportunities facing an aging population at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Our award winning faculty challenge students in the classroom to consider aging in a new light. We also work closely with professionals in the community that teach specialized courses in such areas as health aspects of aging, hospice, legal aspects, long-term care and counseling. Their real life experiences prepare students to appreciate and understand the uniqueness of this phase of life.
