Abstract

The purpose of Project Sunshine is to design and create a sustainable solar energy system to power a single resident Alternative Dwelling Unit (ADU). This unit is being created to combat the rising cost of care for the elderly, with the ADU being designed as a replacement to modern retirement facilities and small homes. This project specifically will help to reduce the cost of living for the resident, making assisted living economically viable. Through the completion of this project, a sustainable energy management system will be designed and implemented to help in the creation of cheaper living for citizens.

This project will only pertain to the solar power collection, storage of that power, ensuring the system is efficient with solar collection, and the information is stored and used for large implementations of the system.
