Abstract
Since its inception in the 1980’s, emotional labor has primarily focused on service industry employees. Few researchers have called attention to studying leader emotional labor. Thus, the present research seeks to understand whether leadership involves emotional labor. Through this research, we hope to not only elucidate the role of emotions in the leadership process, but shape future leadership research and organizational practice.
