Abstract

Entrepreneurship in Nebraska has been resilient after the pandemic. However, many concerns arise due to the potential concentration of opportunities in the metropolitan area. There could be marked differences in access to information, networking, programming, and resources between rural and urban areas. To address this hypothesis, we carried out a mixed-methods research design. A survey was sent to different stakeholders, looking to reach a balance between metropolitan and nonmetropolitan responses. Likewise, interviews with members of Nebraska’s entrepreneurship ecosystem were carried out. The preliminary results suggest that the place of residence matters in starting new businesses in Nebraska, calling for a more inclusive ecosystem.
