Abstract

Piaget is perhaps the most prominent learning theorist influencing preschool education. This influence is appropriate because Piaget's theory interprets the child's cognitive development from birth to adolescence, thus making it a unique developmental perspective for early education. Piaget's investigations regarding what intelligence is and how it develops have revealed that cognitive development occurs in four major stages.
