Abstract

The Plattsmouth Community Schools currently operates a comprehensive high school. A school in which all youths and adults in the district have an opportunity to develop salable skills which are best suited to their individual goals and abilities. The Plattsmouth School district currently operates Vocational Programs in the areas of Business and Office Education. In addition, the district operates a program designed specifically to serve the needs of the disadvantaged and handicapped youth of the community. These programs serve both junior and senior high students. Even though we receive no funding for this program in the junior high school, we continue to operate the program in order to better serve these students. The vocational program in the senior high skill training in the following areas: Automotive Occupation, Metals Occupation, which includes Auto Body, Construction Trades, Upholstery, Health Occupations, Child Care and Food Services. In addition classes in the following support areas are offered: Math, Communication Skills, Social Studies and Occupational Awareness. The Vocational Department also provides these students with coordinated Work Experience Program.
