Abstract

Introduction: The study of algal life cycles is important in terms of taxonomic classification. Reproduction is one of the criteria used in placing algae into different divisions, classes, orders, and families. Growth and cell replication which are involved with life cycles are the "sine qua non" of living organisms (Coleman, 1961).
