The book is compiled by Mansel Longworth Dames, at the request of the Government of the Punjab. Balochi is the principal language of the Balochi people, mostly living in Balochistan, Iran and Afghanistan. Balochi language has two main dialects, namely Legharis or northern tribles, and Mazaris or southern tribes. The book consisted of four parts: part I: Miscellaneous Stories; part II: Legendary History of the Baloches; part III: Poems; part IV: Vocabulary of the Balochi Language.
