The Department of Civil Engineering works collaboratively for undergraduate and graduate education, research and service to the state, the nation and the civil engineering profession. The UNL Civil Engineering program is offered in two locations: the City Campus in Lincoln and the Omaha Campus at The Peter Kiewit Institute. Civil engineers plan, build, and manage the infrastructure that underpins society and preserves the environment. They grapple with nearly every aspect of everyday life -- overcrowded roads, obsolete bridges, crowded urban areas, contaminated water, floods, and airports and other vital facilities.
