Abstract

The journal of the Community Develojnnent Society has a responsibility to disseminate information on the theory, research and practice of community development. To fulfill this function the Journal needs to be read by more than subscribers. One way to ensure that the Journal is widely read and cited in research is by having it adequately indexed and abstracted. This issue has been discussed by Society members and members of the Editorial Board. Research on where the journal is indexed was initiated by Phil Favero and completed by editorial staff. Opposite the inside back cover is the list of indexing and abstracting services that currently list or will list the journal. While we are working on being included in other important services, it is apparent that the Journal of the Community Development Society is still V·iidely indexed. With the growth of electronic reference services indexing is an important issue that needs constant attention.
