Description
The music is provided for a number of special Afghan melodies. These melodies have their origin in the eastern, southern, and southwestern regions of Afghanistan. Some of the songs, in both Pushto and Farsi lyrics, tell the story of young lovers' innermost feelings for each other and the plight of meeting under difficult social conditions. The lyrics tell of the heartaches resulting from these impossible situations and ardent hopes for eventual fulfillment of love. Other songs tell of the Afghan's patriotism, love of the country, and of the proud tradition of sacrificing everything in the cause of motherland.
