The Nebraska Space Grant Consortium (NSGC) is part of the NASA Space Grant College and Fellowship Program. The NSGC awards funds to develop research infrastructure and enhance the quality of aerospace research and education throughout the state. Furthermore, the NSGC strives to provide national leadership in applied aspects of aeronautics.
One of the main goals of the National Space Grant College and Fellowship Program is to assist students pursuing higher education. NASA provides funds to the NSGC for distribution to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing research or course work in the aerospace and aeronautics fields. Since the program began in 1991, over $1,000,000 in scholarships and fellowships has been awarded to over 500 students in Nebraska.
