Abstract

Intrinsically Disordered: Queer and Trans* Spectrum Experiences With Catholic Upbringing is a compilation of interviews with queer and trans* spectrumidentified individuals who grew up in a Catholic environment. The project is a product of a Race, Class, and Gender course, where a final project was assigned to examine of race, class, gender, sexual orientation, religion, etc. and how these various identities intersect. The project examines both the positive and negative effects of Catholicism, and how these effects echo throughout the lifespan of these individuals. It is not an indictment of Catholicism, rather, the project is a collection of honest conversations with individuals sharing their lived experiences with the faith.
