Abstract
Iowa Legal Aid serves low income individuals and families by providing legal assistance in civil law cases. By providing these services, Iowa Legal Aid hopes to provide stabilization for the families they are assisting. Using bivariate analysis, data from a 6-month period was used to look at the relationship between client demographic groups and the intake type used. The results showed a statistically significant relationship between certain client demographic groups and intake type. Client demographic groups included poverty level, age, disability, and race. Iowa Legal Aid may utilize these findings to assess if their intake types are meeting their goals. Additionally, Iowa Legal Aid may want to focus on promoting a specific intake option to different client populations.
