Abstract
Misinformation and disinformation can immensely impact our knowledge, opinions, and trust in the general understanding of our environment. The current advancement in the ability to share and access information through social media, websites, online forums have replaced traditional media as the source of news. However, our limitation in the inability to identify the information from disinformation and misinformation has led to the permeation of wrong and misleading information that distorts reality. Therefore, there is a need to understand and study various aspects of the information, which help in developing algorithms that can distinguish between information, misinformation, and disinformation. In this poster presentation, we would like to understand the characteristics and differences in the information, disinformation, and misinformation from the propagation of such information on social media.
