Abstract
Digital information operations are a major threat for people,socialmediacompanies,andgovernments.Recentlyforeign operations have especially targeted elections with social content. This research investigates how social media accounts connected to Russian Internet Research Agency (RIRA) participated in online discourse about the 2016 U.S. presidential elections. We study the dynamicsoftheseaccountsbyevaluatingthegraphicalmeasuresof theactivitiesincombinationwithcontentattributesoftheactivities. Preliminary findings show that the purpose of the activities was to encourage people to vote for a specificcandidate.
