Abstract
The Wearable Apparatus for Slip Perturbations (WASP) is a device used to study balance and recovery skills from slip perturbations by delivering a slip perturbation at any phase of the gait cycle. With the intent on making this device available to other labs, it is important that this device is reliable and easy to use. This new iteration of the WASP addresses some of the common problems encountered while the old device was in use. There have also been changes to make the device easier to setup and reset between trials. The reset times of the old device have been recorded and are used to compare to the updated device. A shorter setup and reset time are preferred because it cuts down on the time a research participant needs to be present.
