Abstract

Through the examination of pamphlets, letters, military dispatches, and travel narratives, my presentation will trace the romanticization of the Scottish Highland Warrior figure in British literature and culture. This figure underwent a transformation in the cultural fabric of Scotland from 1745 through to the early decades of the 19th century, from that of a savage warrior to one of the more lasting cultural tropes in Scottish history.

Additional Information (Optional)

Please try to schedule my presentation after 12pm on Friday, March 26th.
