Abstract

This research involves using optimal transport laws from biophysical fluid dynamics to understand the flow of blood through the vein networks of insect wings. This research is also concerned with modelling the blood flow through such vein networks using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software to study flow patterns and the effect of vein network geometry on blood flow.
