Abstract

This research study bridges the disciplines of humanities, musicology, and psychology to investigate the representation of virtue-based strengths in orchestral compositions from the Romantic period. The presentation will highlight one strength corresponding to each of the six virtues: wisdom, courage, humanity, justice, temperance, and transcendence. For each musical piece, I will elucidate the rationale behind its categorization and present selected excerpts. Additionally, I will discuss the broader implications of this research for fields such as medicine and education.
