Abstract
The purpose of this report is to present a common case seen in hockey players. The athlete, a hockey player, sustained the injury during the season but was not recognized until after a self-report by the athlete. This player’s end diagnosis was a left adductor strain. This report proves to show the significance of population and associated risk factors that can lead to specific injury. Population can drastically effect what to expect for injury and how to properly recognize and treat it. Athletic trainers should be aware of their populations and the common injuries associated with them. For most athletic trainers that work with sports, an awareness of their population and its tendencies are key to proper recognition and treatment.
