Abstract
The purpose of this report is to present the case of a high school football player/wrestler who sustained multiple patellar dislocation/subluxations resulting in a Medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction. The athlete has shown a positive outcome after surgery and has not had any further subluxations. Athletic trainers should have an understanding of how to help athletes with patellar instability and what may help reduce the risk of future surgeries. Athletic trainers should also know what resources and options the athletes have to aid in their recovery. The collaboration of other medical professionals proves to be vital in these situations.
