Abstract

This study is concerned with the function and structure of the recreational property market. It begins with a brief history, followed by a review of the literature in which other studies and theories are examined. What are believed to be the major determinants in the structure of the recreational property market are extracted from the literature. From these determinants a theory is hypothesised and proxy measures proposed to explain the variation between Nebraska counties in the percentage of households owning second homes.
