Abstract
The excellent student at the community college level has personal characteristics which are related to success. The institutional goals and characteristics of the community college are interrelated to the goals of successful students. Studies of four-year institutions have found that from 30 to 50 percent of students who enter college do not finish their programs in the prescribed time frame.
