Abstract
This thesis focuses on the coverage of seven watershed events in Native American history by four Omaha, Nebraska newspapers. Covering the years between 1868 and 1891, the thesis looks at the use of stereotypes by the newspapers as well as the overall quality of the reporting in terms of balance, accuracy, judgement and prediction.
