Description
For my creative response, I chose to highlight how men are not represented as victims of violence. I was inspired by the WCA members' drive to show inclusivity to all. I chose a free use image website (Pexels) and searched victims of violence to form a visual representation of the disparity between male and female victims. Through my search I was able to find two key themes: men are very rarely portrayed as true victims of abuse and men are more represented as the perpetrators even in queer relationships. Overall, when people have representation as viable victims, more men will feel uplifted to speak up and get the help and justice they deserve.
