Abstract

Creating a digital identity in the Solana ecosystem is composed of creating accounts across multiple platforms with similar pseudo-names. Using public ledger technology (blockchain), digital identities can be developed so they are seamlessly applied across applications. Creating one such identity enables the individual to express themselves and build their personal brand. Blockchain technology automates this process by creating snapshots of an individual’s digital footprint within the scope of the ecosystem and enables a user to create a digital profile inspired by facets of self-sovereign identity principles. A digital identity should be controlled by the individual, but also allow for the identity to be a pseudonym and include the social aspects that make up a traditional identity. Thus for the context of this thesis, such a platform was developed and given to potential users to assess the usability of this application. Users were requested to explore the capabilities of the application and then asked to think about how the application enables the user to create a profile representative of themselves. Additionally, users were asked to suggest features that were missing from the application.
