Statement on Open Access

International Dialogue follows the platinum standard of open access publishing, which is that digital versions of International Dialogue articles are available, free of charge, to researchers and the public immediately upon publication and no publication fee is charged to authors.

Authors grant International Dialogue first rights of distribution upon publication. International Dialogue will add a DOI to each individual published article. Authors are free to distribute any version of their manuscript.  International Dialogue encourages authors to deposit copies of the final article in their institutional repository requesting that proper citation and a link back to the original article are provided with deposit.  In addition to this, International Dialogue allows readers to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of its articles. Any use of material from this journal requires a full citation that credits the author and source of publication, as well as linking to the journal and if used, the Creative Commons license.

International Dialogue, to further align with platinum open access standards, adopted Creative Commons licensing of its journal in 2024.  All items published from 2024 onwards will be published under the Creative Commons Attribution License, unless the author chooses a different Creative Commons License.  This license allows users to read, distribute and adapt material as long as attribution is given to the authors.  The copyright for the article remains with the Author.
