Abstract

In this project, I evaluate the progress of the United States smart city strategy, using an advanced fuzzy classification method to ensure the results are valid and unbiased. A smart city is viewed as six sub-topics: “smart economy”, “smart mobility”, “smart environment”, “smart living”, “smart people”, and “smart governance.” Smart city strategy has been proposed and implemented for many years, which has improved the quality of people’s life. Through the smart city project, the city’s resources could be used more efficiently. Technology devices, such as sensors make a big contribution to smart city progress. To evaluate the progress of the smart city project, this creative research proposed a new evaluation framework for this goal. This project designed an intelligence quotient (IQ) test framework for smart cities. This new IQ test framework is an extension of the IQ test framework for human. The smart city progress will be varied if evaluates from a different perspective. Adults and children may view smart city progress differently. This challenge has been existed for many years. This project uses an advanced fuzzy classification method to solve this problem. The smart city IQ score will be calculated based on human being IQ factors. Each city (selected top 100 US cities) was assigned to a related human being age.
