Abstract

Throwing velocity has an impact on how a baseball pitcher's body moves. The ability to generate high amounts of kinetic energy and propagate it optimally through the body and out through the baseball requires precise coordination. Subjects within this study underwent a biomechanical assessment to investigate movement patterns they exhibit while pitching a baseball. Differences in kinetics and kinematics were observed between athletes who were able to throw above ninety miles per hour and those who threw below that threshold.
