Abstract

Fear is a common emotion, portrayed often in horror genre movies and seasonal activities such as haunted houses, which have more of an impact on people than some may consider. Indulging in fear or a “morbid desire” found in horror films or haunted houses may be beneficial, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. This is visible through the reaction to fear, morbid curiosity, horror films, neurocinematics, pandemic films, quar horror, and haunted houses, but still can be taken to extremes.
