Abstract
The need for more knowledge and better understanding of the adolescent personality patterns (traits) that lead to juvenile delinquency becomes more and more apparent with the tremendous growth in population and the alarming upswing in juvenile delinquency in the State of California. Attempts to meet this problem which have been taken by the State include the appropriation of larger sums of money, the establishment of the California Youth Authority, the construction of new facilities and the enlargement of present facilities, State authorities, lay and professional people, churches, fraternal and service organizations and community agencies have banded together to cope with it.
