Abstract
It is very probable that educational guidance has been present in our schools to some degree from their very beginning, but it has received little recognition until the beginning of the twentieth century. Because guidance touches every aspect of an individual's life, it must be closely coordinated with our total educational program if our schools are to function effectively and efficiently.
