Abstract
The problem in this study was to determine whether the Davis-Eells Test of General Intelligence or Problem Solving Ability yields scores comparable to those obtained on the Stanford-Binet, form L. It is well known that children of differing cultural backgrounds do not perform equally well on currently used mental ability tests. Allison Davis, Kenneth Eells, and others at the University of Chicago have for some years been working on the construction of a test of mental ability which would minimize the importance of differences in cultural backgrounds. In 1953 the culmination of their efforts, the Davis-Eells Test of General Intelligence or Problem Solving Ability, was published by the World Book Company.
