Abstract

This thesis applied a descriptive/interpretive approach to the study of faculty perceptions of international students. This study focused on the communication activities inside and outside the classroom between faculty and foreign students and also on the meanings, values and assumptions that professors share regarding these students. Semi-structured interviews revealed that problems do not exist in communication between these two groups but that faculty would be willing to participate in a mutual cross-cultural training session to improve this relationship.
