Abstract
The 16 years remaining in this century may present American education with the most critical challenges and dramatic changes in its history. Characterized by global economics, decentralization of information and political power, demograph shifts, and most significantly by major technological advances, the Information Age is imploring -- and soon will demand -- that our schools "keep in step with the times."
