Special Issue: Exploring Artic Security and Defense

Submission Deadline: January 12, 2024

Space and Defense publishes high quality articles that promote theoretically-based research on policy problems of national security, international conflict, and deterrence, particularly in the space and cyber domains.

Central Questions to be considered for our Special Issue include:

• What challenges will impact the balance between Arctic exploration and security?
• How will space and emerging technology influence activities in the Arctic and the High North?
• Does nuclear deterrence and assurance play a role in the Arctic and the High North?

Original articles, student contributions, and book reviews welcome. There is no standard length for articles, but 7,500 to 10,000 words, including notes and references, is a useful target for research articles, and viewpoint essays should be in the range of 2,500 to 5,000 words.
